Our barrels are large and heavy meaning we need to plan the delivery and installation carefully with you. Due to their size and weight we recommend a smooth, flat and hard surface from the kerb to where you would like the bath positioned. Any more than three steps, tight corridors or uneven ground typically requires specialist equipment and sometimes a crane. We’ve managed to get every barrel into position so far, if you’ve any concerns just contact us.

UK Kerbside & International Orders: If you are an international customer or you select our UK kerbside option we will deliver your barrel to the front of your property where it will be left on a pallet with a protective cover. To get your barrel in to position we’d recommend several strong friends with some lifting straps or a local specialist removals firm. Setting up your barrel is easy, once you’ve placed your order we will share a short guide on how to setup.

UK Installation: If you are in the UK and choose our delivery and installation option at checkout we will work with you from the moment you place your order. All we require is a short video showing us the route from your kerb to the final position of the barrel. Our team carefully review these to ensure we are confident we can place the barrel safely for you. We will discuss any challenges we foresee and solve those with you well ahead of delivery.

Serving up to 100 users per day

Each Brass Monkey barrel is delivered with a matching cabinet, which houses a custom-made chiller as one complete system. We build the system in our workshop, which is how we can support up to 100 people daily - because we build them so. The control unit offers connection to wifi for remote control and remote support - and it’s how the water chiller can be set to your desired temp and be left to maintain a temp as low as 3-15°c automatically. We build our chillers with the same care and attention that we build our ice-generating ice baths. The chiller can be scheduled to allow less power consumption overnight.

Cleaning is managed with two-stage filtration that includes a pre-filter with a backwash function and a 30-micron paper filter. The pre filter can be backwashed daily in minutes, the paper filter should be replaced every few days. Each paper filter can be cleaned, dried and re-used several times over. UV supports the removal of 99% of bacteria and pathogens. Residual cleaners such as hydrogen peroxide can also be used as a fourth line of defence.

Crystal Clear Water

We take safety seriously. So we designed a powerful filtration system that keeps the water clean, fresh, and safe. With just 5 minutes maintenance per day, the Plunge delivers maximum performance with crystal clear water for up to 40 people per hour in the Cold Plunge. Here’s how it works:

The mesh pre filter catches any larges pieces of debris before the water passes through to the filtration system.This can easily be removed for cleaning.

Water flows into the Twistiiclean removing solid sediment and any organic materials from the water. This helps keep the water clear.

This secondary filter takes water cleanliness to the next level, collecting the finest particles in the water for peace of mind and member safety.

Water is passed through a chamber surrounding a powerful ultraviolet light bulb purifying the water before the final stage of treatment.

For ultimate water freshness, the micro-doser dispenses a safe and minute amount of your preferred cleaning solution into the water, killing bacteria before the water is sent through the chiller for cooling.

Key Considerations

Our Barrel Chillers have been created to be simple to install and maintain.

Dimensions & access

When considering where you will locate your barrels, please note that they are 100cm wide (120cm with fittings). Please ensure there are no obstacles that would block access. Our barrels favour a smooth, hard and flat floor, something they need as they weigh 110kg when empty and 610kg when full. Sometimes, we need to call in specialists to support delivery. If you are overseas, you will need to make your own arrangements.

Placement

It is important to place the barrel on a flat and level surface to prevent any uneven pressure on the individual wooden staves. When the barrel is placed on an uneven surface, the weight of the water (400kg+) can lead to cracks and leaks in the barrel. An example of an uneven surface would be York Stone Paving or Gravel.

Unique finish

No plastics here. Each Brass Monkey Barrel has aged in its own unique way and developed its own character. Every barrel is reconditioned and lined with a clear resin to ensure it’s watertight and ready to be with you for many, many years to come. Upcycling - done right.

Maintenance

Maintenance should only take 5-10 mins per day. The barrels use dual-stage filtration and UV to keep your water clean and nasty-free. We recommend changing the filters every 2 to 3 days depending on usage. Performing a system backwash each day, will help rid the filter housing of contaminates. You’ll need to change your UV bulb every 6 months. All of this will be wrapped up in your starter guide. To ensure your water stays clean for as long as possible, we recommend dippers take a quick shower before jumping in!
